Many people believe that by seeing their dentist they’re just ensuring a clean mouth free of cavities.
BUT a regular checkup does so
During a regular check up, your dentist will not only check your teeth for plague and tartar build up but will also check the health of your gums, tongue and surrounding areas, perform a head and neck examination, check your jaw joints (TMJ), evaluate your mouth for any vitamin deficiencies and check for signs of diabetes and oral cancer.
Most dentists recommend a visit every 6 months, or more frequently if a patient is at high risk of dental disease. So go see your dentist as recommended to protect these areas and ensure a healthy mouth.
