HELPING KIDS BRUSH AND FLOSS REGULARLY - HELPFUL HINTS

Kam SAYS!

Did you know floss comes waxed and unwaxed, flavoured and plain, in a wide band and thin or thick? What kind of floss you use is not important, but using it is.

When brushing, make sure your child uses a pea size amount of toothpaste on their toothbrush. Larger amounts tend to be difficult for kids to handle by creating too much foam and overwhelming their mouth with toothpaste.

Keeping a floss and brushing chart in the bathroom is a good reminder for kids to brush and floss daily. Have your child use their favourite stickers to keep track of how many times they have brushed and flossed in a row. Use non-monetary incentives such as staying up later or an extra bedtime story.

You may use the attached chart or you can create one with your child.
